PhD in Political Science from the University of Vienna. Former senior research fellow at the Austrian National Defense Academy. Specializes in ethnic conflicts in the CIS, military policies of post-Soviet states, and Eurasian energy security. Author of over 300 publications in 12 countries. Has taught at the Defense Academy, the University of Vienna, and other academic institutions in Austria and abroad.
