Co-founder and former partner at RusEnergy, an independent consulting agency specializing in the oil and gas industry of post-Soviet states. Former editor-in-chief of Russian Petroleum Investor, analyzing energy investments in the region. Prior to that, worked for TASS as a correspondent and bureau chief in Cairo, Damascus, Beirut, and Tehran. Holds a Ph. D. in Modern History from the Academy of Social Sciences and a B.A. in Oriental Linguistics from Moscow State University.
