Graduated from the Faculty of Geography at Lomonosov Moscow State University, holds a PhD in Geography. Specializes in Russian domestic politics, regional development, and electoral processes.
Worked at the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Carnegie Moscow Center, and the Higher School of Economics. Served as a research fellow in the Russia and Eurasia program at Chatham House.
Visiting researcher at Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik.
