Graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Worked for Izvestia, Moskovsky Komsomolets, and Megapolis-Express. Served as Deputy General Director of REN TV and led publishing projects in television and print media.
Headed the media laboratory at RIA Novosti and was a board member of WAN-IFRA. Senior Research Fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California.
